Dr. Pavel Akila Sectakof (“Dr. S”) has been practicing orthodontics for over 35 years, creating beautiful smiles for tens of thousands of patients. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 1986, followed by Advanced Specialty Training in Orthodontics in 1990 and a Master’s Degree in 1992, all from the same university.

Since 1992, Dr. Sectakof has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, with a cross-appointment between the Orthodontic and Pediatric Departments. He has taught both Orthodontic and Pediatric graduate students for over three decades and has received numerous awards for his contributions to teaching and patient care.

Dr. Sectakof owned and operated two successful private practices northwest of the city from 1992 to 2023, and he now continues to practice at Superkids Dentistry while maintaining his academic role at the Faculty of Dentistry.

As a certified specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Dr. S focuses exclusively on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), misaligned teeth, and jaw irregularities. He provides comprehensive orthodontic care using a full range of appliances—including braces, clear aligners, and retainers—for children, adolescents, and adults.

Dr. S believes that orthodontic patients deserve the care of a qualified specialist with advanced education and experience. He takes a hands-on approach, ensuring each smile is crafted with expertise and a personal touch.

Outside the office, Dr. S enjoys spending time with his two rescue dogs, cooking, and filling his home with the aroma of fresh baking for family and friends.
