Nitrous Oxide (also known as “laughing gas”): safe and effective way to calm one’s nerves. If a child can breathe in through their nose then nitrous oxide may help them.
Oral sedation: an oral pre-medication can sometimes help a child to relax and remain calm enough to have dental treatment completed over a short period of time.
General Anesthesia: is performed when dental treatment cannot otherwise be completed safely, due to either the length of the treatment or the child’s inability to tolerate treatment. (Service available upon permit from RCDSO).
